Potential Game of Thrones Episode 4 Spoilers Incoming After HBO Hack

CEO calls HBO hack "disruptive, unsettling, and disturbing"

HBO is the latest Hollywood company to have suffered what looks similar a massive cyberattack. However, it's unclear what kind of a breach the company is dealing with. Over the weekend, hackers sent the post-obit email to reporters:

"Hello to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening.

What's its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones......!!!!!! You are lucky to exist the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, wi will have an interview with him. HBO is declining."

At present, the Entertainment Weekly confirms this hack. The HBO hack includes an episode of Ballers and Room 104, and of course, the Game of Thrones "text" that hackers have promised to leak shortly.

HBO has also confirmed a "cyber incident", simply hasn't all the same said if the alleged content has been leaked as hackers are claiming.

HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information. We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with police force enforcement and outside cybersecurity firms. Information protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we concur.

While the episodes of Ballers and Room 104 have been allegedly put online (not sure if we are interested), the written textile about the adjacent episode of Game of Thrones is "coming shortly". If you aren't someone who enjoys spoilers, try to stay clear of Reddit and other places that are e'er full of GoT theories and spoilers.

HBO isn't the first entertainment company facing the data leaks. Before HBO, Netflix and more notoriously, Sony Amusement have lost massive chunks of data that proved almost catastrophic in the case of Sony.

Game of Thrones is HBO'due south biggest success and its most-guarded hush-hush especially since season 5. "Any intrusion of this nature is obviously confusing, unsettling, and disturbing for all of us," HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler wrote in an email to employees.
